Be happy you have parents who want you around.

One other thing, until you and your parents have both grown old enough for you to take charge of their affairs, you cannot be sure what they worry about.

No matter what, I would not be in a great rush to tell them you want to be away from them. They will be the one constant and reliable thing for you for a large part of your life. Don't push them away and burn any bridges. Hurt has a habit of spreading where we don't want it to go.

Good luck.

If you really want to go, I think they should let you go. However, I can understaand why your parents would want to keep you for awhile. I guess they want to spend time with you before you leave for college. By the way, what school is it? I live in Pasadena (which is in Southern California if you didn't know).

EDIT (I didn't know how else to contact you): I looked up the school and its quite a ways from where
I live. It's closer to San Fransisco. Looking at the
website, it seems like a really great school. I go to
Mayfield Senior School, which is a small catholic
school in Pasadena, which is a suburb of LA. I think
if your parents let you, the Stevenson School seems
like a great place to go. Good luck with your choice!

ok, well, i personally would LOVE to go to a coed boarding school, but i know that my parents would kill me if i actually went cuz of the coed part. maybe they're worried that if you go, you won't get to see them enough. also, they may be worried that if you go to a coed school, then things may get, well, out of hand. just try to convince them that you're trustworthy enough to go there and stay out of trouble, and you'll see them as often as you can.
