is the hold button on...if not Waite tell the battery dies then charge it and see what happens!!

I have had that happen to me before too. What I would do is turn the hold switch on and then off and after you do that hold down the center and menu button at the same time. That should do a soft reset. You will not lose any of your music at all. The only thing that will be lost is your settings. The settings can easily be set back to where you want them. i have an ipod 30gb i dont know if it is the same for the ipod nano but hit the middle button and the menu button at the same time and hold it down until it shuts off. it takes minute or so to shut off so dont freak out if it doesnt shut off

put it on the charger and leave it alone for an hour than try to turn it off. Always works for me

hook it up to your computer, go to iTunes and click Restore. It'll erase everything but it'll help somehow. make sure you have files with your music so you don't lose them though.

last time mine did the same thing, it's because i didnt realize i used up the battery. the second you plug it in, it should work. then let it charge! :O
