Yes. The Jews. What religion would agree with them? Why would anybody, except a Jewish person? My question has always been, "Chosen for what, exactly? Suffering?"

Of course, you are right. All statements that God has said this or that is merely some group's belief system, man made and satisfactory only to those who wish to believe it.

A best example is the Catholic Church whose leader, called the Pope, has said in PRINT that there is ONLY one church and that is the Catholic Church.

The Pope (well his was only a Cardinal when he wrote these words) goes on to say that other groups such as Anglicans, Methodists, Presbyterians and Baptists should NOT be called "churches" but only "religious communities" and that they are all DEFECTIVE and only the Cartholic church can be called a "church"

So when the Jewish people say they are the chosen people that is their belief system.

There are some 300 belief systems in the world. My opinion is that they have every right to say what they want and think what they want.

I personally don't think the "architect of the universe" who some people call God, others Jehovah, others Allah, others Budah etc etc does not really speak to anyone or call anyone "chosen or condemned or heretic or holy". Those words are man-made and are used by men and women by which to call each other.

I don't think the "architect of the universe" interferes with the actions of the creatures within the universe that the architect created. It would appear that man has evolved and controls his own destiny, sometimes killing millions of his own kind (Rawanda, Hitler, Rouge,Stalin etc) and others spend their whole lives helping others.

One thing is sure. If the Jews were "chosen" to be killed off by the million in the gas chambers then it is indeed a wonder that the Jews believe in any God at all.

The sad fact is that in every religion or belief system there are EXTREMISTS who give their group a bad name. I researched a dozen religions in a study I did and found that every one of them
had the motto "do unto others as you would have done to you" by which they should live. But some extremists in all those religions have opted for control and power. Unfortunately "man's inhumanity toward man" is a characteristic that only exists in humans.

A large number of every "race" believe they are the chosen ones. It's human nature to believe your group is special. Generally, humans are their own biggest competitors. For that reason claiming your team is the best might just bring you more members (or keep those you've got). It's not really BS, but if the people of the world are to ever find peace we all have to stop thinking of other groups as outsiders and/or a threat. Will that ever happen? Maybe never.

There are race related special features that can be identified.... however, the universe runs on the principle of dynamic balance, which in this context means that

The special features would be a fair mix of good and bad....hence every race would be superior in some respects and inferior in other respects compared to the other races ..... and further that even within each race, some would be more and others would be less ingrained with the special features of the race!!

Does anyone believe it? Presumably many Jews do.

In general, people who belong to organized religions believe that they are the Chosen of God. Everyone from Muslims to Jehovah's Witnesses believe they are God's chosen people. Similarly, everyday Christians believe Christ's words that "I am the Way, the Truth, the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me" (i.e., that Christians, by believing in Christ, BECOME the Chosen race, whatever their ethnic origins).

Old doctrines in particular support this us/them mentality, and those who hold these beliefs are very, very difficult to sway from them. Even Jehovah's Witnesses, who believe that only 144,000 people will be chosen to serve God in Heaven....despite the fact that there are now 6,000,000 Jehovah's Witnessess....

Some people say it is the Hebrew Isrealite (House of Judea) that God made promises to and curses against. The term "Jew" is a much younger term than the language used in the OT.

The Holy Bible says God chosen the Jewish human beings b'c THEY first chosen God. God made an eternal covenant with Abraham and his sons, Issac and Jacob via fact Abraham chosen to worship God and save His instructions - in different words, Abraham lived a Godly existence and raised his kin interior the statues of almighty God. via this, God suggested He could boost them up and bless them abundantly. that's the place ''chosen'' got here from. As for something human beings - if we prefer to persist with God, we are accompanied into His kin however Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha Maschiach) desire this helps God bless ~~~~~~~~~~~ am i able to upload: Jewish human beings do no longer boast of being ''chosen'' - in-actuality from what i see Jewish ppl could quite no longer be stated as ''chosen'' .. a minimum of no longer in a boasting experience.

Chosen for what???? There is no 'chosen race'. That is all hogwash. People are the way they evolved. Man in 'his infinite stupidity' has put his label on everything. And if he cannot understand it, it must have come from'god'.

Jesus was Jewish and he was chosen as the King of Jews. So, I guess the Jews were the chosen ones and most were just unable to accept that one of their own chilren would lead the world to peace.

Almost every group of every kind in the world think that they are better than everyone else. When this insane 'tribalism' can be put to rest, we can get down to the importnat business of living in harmony.
