Thinking of Negril because we hear it is not over crowded with very young partiers? Which is a great all inclusive resort? Where is the best place to snorkel? Any advice or tips? (trip probably in May)

An all inclusive resort such as,(Couples inn,= not sure of All In clusive with them check it out though) Sandals or Super clubs resorts would do you OK, or (if your into luxury Ritz Carlton and Windam or Half Moon resort in Montego bay is there to accommodate you),but being a first timer to the island as it is,go with and open mind, and expect to see lots of things that you may not be use to,its a very beau ti full country, its you who have to know how to enjoy yourself when you get there.as there is alot of things to do.

Ochi Rios,Montego Bay and Negril are all good choices,a little of every thing is mix in,eg;Natural, water falls like Duns river in Ochi,Or night life and the beaches in Montego bay the tourist capital and Negril of course with its tourist like setting to beach and party goers, depending on what period of year.(you would'nt want to be in Negril in spring break as it can get crazy with party goers) ,be sure to stop at the cliffs at Ricks Cafe' to to see the sunset, and snorkeling is also avilable there in Negril along the seven mile beach, arrangement for that can be done through your Hotel of choice,so too are tours of the island.

If your into nature however the north east is for you.with the parish of Portland presenting some of the countries last untouched rain forest and mountains for hiking rivers for rafting and plenty more waters falls to see and to go swim, good beaches that are not as over crowed but clean enough and safe to go for a dip,and one of the worlds most famous lagoon noun as the blue lagoon, but Jamaica has something for every body.

Depending on how long you will be there, its good to take along with you US and Jamaican Currencies when going shopping, bring lots of 1 dollar and 5 dollar denominaters in US as change for tips and shopping around,a credit card would also be fine and can come in handy,Jamaican currencies can be, behad at Sangster International Airport in Mo bay,St,James.
But if your planning to go, by All inclusive you'll just need to worry about spending money for any additional expenditure,as room food and so on will be already paid for through travel agent,by you.

But go with an open mind, for Jamaica can be full of suprises,be sure to enjoy your self.

Visited Ocho Rios May of 2006. Went with an all-inclusive resort, Royal Plantation. Best way to go is all-inclusive. We did not leave the resort all week just because it was a beautiful resort but also for safety reasons outside the resort walls. The roads there are awful and it was a 2 hour drive from the Montego Bay airport. All in all it was okay but we will not go back to Jamaica. There are so many other nicer islands to go to. I suggest Aruba,, it is safe, clean and beautiful.

I went to Jamaica last year and had a blast! While shopping never take the price on the item. Even if its cheap for you. You can ALWAYS haggle :) If they see you start to walk out they will offer you another price. Also be careful of some of the locals most of them are really sweet but there are a few who like to take advantage. For instance one Jamaican guy charged $10 for simply taking a picture with my friends own camera just stuff like that. But other than that its great there.
