First things first. In rder to be an actor, you must study a lot. An I mean a LOT! Even harder than you are used to. Get into acting lessons, fine arts apreciation, literature, painting, drama, music, and dance lessons just to name a few. And that is without even giving up regular school. If there are such optional classes in your school, take them all. Audition for parts in your school plays. Your local church maybe has a theater company. They will be happy to help you get in front of the audience. If you think you can stand all the work involved, and people criticies you favorably, you can start looking somewhere else. You can start auditioning for every play available locally and apply for greater productions everytime you succeed in one. At that ponit, you hire a talent agency which will ask for photographs in character and au natural, and some proof you can actually act.
The other road is to hang around the studios to see if you can do some useful stuff. You can begin by helping everyone you see, you never know who you are offering your help. They like that attitude. Keeping in shape or at least having a sharp or strong image is a must. You must be recognizable enough so they have you in mind for something. If you are as lucky as Harrison Ford was (he was a carpenter at the studios) they will notice you someday and give you a chance. But be prepared to have a plan B just in case.
The third scenario is going to a real acting school, as Lee Strasberg's Acting School. You will be partner of many famous stars' children and of course a lot of wannabes. But If you are good, your teachers will help you getting you some auditions and they're usually well connected so they can recommend you with the big names. But you got to try hard.
There is a list of famous people who never studied acting but made it anyway, as is the case of Lucas Black, who stars "The Fast and The furious: Tokyo Drift". He began doing TV commercials and some guy realized the kid was an interesting character. He had a starring role in the TV series "American Gothic" and is still on his way to stardom.
You have many options, but the choice is yours. And remember to work hard!

To begin with, you are awfully young. But, on the other hand, you may already know what you want to do with your life!!! And that is good. And it is too bad that your sister won.t help you. Shame on her!!!! Anyway, You have to have an agent. I don't know where you live. But most cities will have talent/acting agencies. You need to find one that is not going to take advantage of you. So, to be sure of that you check with the Better Business Bureau to see what their record is. You can start out by being a background actor. That means you are more than an extra. You will not necessarily have a speaking part as a background actor, but your face will be recognizable on the screen. So, you can do that for awhile. Then be sure your agent sends you on any casting calls for your age, type, etc. These parts should include speaking as well as acting. If you are good and have what it takes, the producers, directors, etc., will take notice and you will start getting calls. You have to keep after your agent to be sure he/she is getting you all the auditions, etc., that are coming up. Also,. at your age, I think you will need the permision of a parent or guardian. Good luck!!!

To be in a movie or on the tv is not as simple as just getting an agent then auditioning. Most movie stars you see today have been acting for 10, 15 even 20 years before they got their big break. A lot of actors don't ever get their big break. If you want to be an actor it should be because you love acting not because you want to be a star. If you are still thinking about acting I highly reccommend you read 'a to z of acting' by Katherine Mayfield' it tells you everything you need to know about the acting industry.

theres a 99.999999999% chance you'll get into a movie, being 14, with no experience, agent, or anything pertaining to a film's requirements. the acting industry is competitive and unlikely. get an agent, finding out through your parents (and actually finding out if you're allowed to have one) and researching on the internet; then, maybe the best thing that'll happen to you for now is getting into a commercial until maybe when you're older and have acting experience. sorry, but it's the cold hard truth. i know because im in a drama program at my high school right now and have friends with agents (who basically get onto shows once in a while (but more voluntary ones - not episode based sitcoms etc) and commercials once in a while.

Participate in school dramas, debates, etc. which involve acting, speaking & communication skills. Also, watch out for modelling agencies. However, complete your studies, because very few people get to the top of the movie circuit, most are somewhere inbetween and get frustrated after some years. Then you'll require an alternative job to bank upon.

The best option I can suggest is to go to an acting school. I recommend the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. It's really good but very expensive so you will need a decent job to support yourself if you get in. Angelina Jolie went there and so did some other people I can't quite remember but it's a really good school and when you graduate they should set you up with some agencies.

You can audition at a community theater, where they do live performances of plays. You don't get paid but you do get experience, and possibly recognition. Most communities have one.
Once you do a few of those, and become known locally for your acting ability, you might find bigger opportunities opening up for you. Like any career it takes a lot of hard work, patience, and determination to keep at it till you become successful.
You might or might not ever become a famous Hollywood movie star. That depends a lot on luck. But it also depends on how good you are, and how persistently you keep working at it.

Well you need to start get you name out there, and get started in small stuff, like sitcom series or small parts in movies, so you'll have some experience. Or maybe commercials, those always help today's movie stars get there face out there. Then get a trushworthy agency that will take you out there being in the rich and famous. Well best of luck, and hope your dreams come true.

1st of all, make sure you have enough experience. Then look over your goal again and analyse the reasons you want to pursue this career, after all a career is an important decision. After that, e-mail book authors, movie stars, retired stars, whoever has been in a similar situation and talk to them about it. Be on the look out for anyone looking for actors. Good luck in pursuing your career.

Well you should go to an acting school i guess and from there if you're good enough people will start calling you to come out in commericals, movies etc. But first you need to know how to act.
