I have been fighting with my mother-in-law since Thanksgiving and I have been planning a huge event, which took place last night, I was very happy it was over and when I got home, I was just relaxing, went to get something to drink in the kitchen and fainted. I hit the wall on the way down, cut the bridge of my nose wide open, got a bloody nose and two big bumps on my forehead. Could it be stress or something else?

I'd check with your doctor just to be sure something isn't wrong. Are you sure you're not pregnant?

Fighting with your mother-in-law since Thanksgiving, that's a long time to be fighting with someone, especially with your mother-in-law. I believe that stress, resentment, hatred and deception can cause a lot of physical and emotional problems. Hatred rots the marrow of your bones. Bitterness harden your heart. Deception can cause cancer; did you know that it is a scienticfic fact that every time you tell a lie you release a carciogenic agent into your body? Moreover, stress for a long period of time can cause severe depression...I think you need to take another look at how you deal with conflict. Conflict isn't that bad, matter-of-fact it is good, the reason is because it gets issues on the table that needs to be dealt with and resolved. Conflict is bad when people handle it with bitterness, when they shutdown, when they don't discuss their true feelings, when they assume people are thinking things that they are not and getting even for things that were just figments of their imaginations (backstabbing and gossiping) I used to be really stressed and depressed...people can wear you down if you let them...I know some really good books that can help you: Conflict Unraveled, by Andra Medea; How to Disagree Without Being Disagreeable, by Suzette Haden Elgin, Ph.D; The Miracle of Mind Dynamics, by Joseph Murphy (excellent book!). The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, by Dr. Stephen Covey...There is one more book that is really important...I've read it twice and that is the Holy Bible...don't let people steal your joy...

One more thing, stress is an emotional battle, don't let a doctor give you anti-depressants, this can cause you more problems. They have horrible side effects: dizziness, confusion, nausea, liver damage, walls look like they're melting, heaviness...there is no quick fix in life. You must learn how to deal with stress on a spirtual playing field...knowing in your heart that you did the right thing...

Could be a number of things, stress being one of them. Either way you need to go to the doctor and get it all checked out to be sure.
Also, lets limit time with the annoying MIL, that always helps.

Did you know that you can rearrange the letters in Mother in law to spell "woman hitler"? There's a smile for ya!

I fainted alot when I was pregnant with my children...or you could be anemic, a problem that is usually easily fixed when diagnosed by a doctor, low iron is what causes anemia, therefore your doctor will probably have you take iron through vitamins, however you could uverdose from having too much iron in your system, so ask your doctor the amount you should take, if thats the case.

I would bet it was from stress. My dad once told me he woke up one morning, went downstairs, downed a glass of orange juice really quickly and hit the floor. Personally, I have fainted because I felt the stitches in my mouth from my wisdom teeth and not eating.

If it happens again, i'd go to the doc. but if you didn't have any other symptoms, it was probably nothing.

It could be from stress it could also be for a number of reasons. If you just faint you should take some time to just relax reading or watching television could help.

Stress will do it. But fainting is a sign you need to see the doctor.
