Actually I think the word is "envious," but I understand what you're saying.

You're suffering from an American affliction called the "mewannas." We are taught from birth that not only can we have everything, but we are ENTITLED to everything. Of course, this is not true and when we realize this, we often become angry.

How sad. But I would say bravo for you for seeing that you are and now you can work to fix that for yourself. It is hard to not be jealous but if you can slowly start to tell people how happy you are for them and give positive remarks when people show you new things. It is so important to be happy with yourself. The most important person you need to love is yourself. then people will love you. Do you have access to a counselor? Not that they will solve all your problems but just having someone to talk to and be completley honest about it with would help. Maybe a best friend.

Haha indeed Voodoid. Reminds me of an analogy a comic used on American's sense of entitlement. He was saying the best of example of this could be found in Deal or no Deal where people are within grasp of more money than they'll ever see in their life but they turn it down because they think they deserve more.

Don't fall for the hype!! If you do you will live your life completely unsatisfied no matter how much you have.

Lack of self esteem - a common problem.

Self esteem of course comes from self and cannot come from any other source. It comes from doing things for yourself, by overcoming obstacles and self-improvement.

Like exercise you can't start at the top of the heap - it comes from a series of small steps that over time make up a big gain.

Probably because jealousy is as rudimentary as hunger, fear, love, sadness, etc. -- It's an interesting admission, but how you respond to this emotion is what's important.

Don't mistreat others because of it.

Also, when ever I am doing or have done my very best, I can only congratulate another who can do more. No need to be angry because I have done my best.

Good luck.

I've heard jealousy is caused by insecurities, not being confident in your own abilities, relationships, looks, etc. I'm not an expert, but that's what i've heard.....and it's mostly in your own head, most people probably look up to you.
