People predicting the END OF THE WORLD. Scaring others even when many of the predictors time of when the END will actually happen has expired? I guess my question is, " Why do these people think they are so superior of giving an estimated time of all humans demise and the end of the world as we know it."

From what ive seen, people in general like to guess the unknown and they like to capture it and make a "homemade version" for their own amusement. Just look at the atlanta aquarium, where they captured whale sharks for their own profit. OK back to the question. In my opinion, i have no idea when or even IF the world will end. I do know however i dont want to be living when it happens. Im not saying that I want to die, but if a meteor came down or the Angels came down for the Rapture. I would rather have already died. Im sorry if i sound psycho but this is my own opinion.

Over-Population specialist Paul Ehrlich, Carl Sagan and most natural scientists have been predicting that for a long time. In 50 years, at our current rate of growth, we'll grow from 6.5 billion to 10 billion souls....totally unsustainable by the earth's natural resources.

There will be zero fossil fuels, zero coal and other basic resources. The few remaining natural resources (in particular water) will be fought over by the world's population. Only a cataclysmic event will bring population levels down to sustainable levels (wars, pestilence, or whatever). Can technology save the day, perhaps, but at our consuming rate, the train wreck is well known. Will we change our destructive habits? probably not, the chasm between the third world countries and the 'rich have's' will only get deeper.

Regarding the history of doomsday predictions, that's been going on since the days Nero was throwing Christians to the lions. Every turn of the century, turn of the millenia, solar eclipse, passing of halley's comet, Jim Jones and the crazy dude in Waco, all have predicted the end of the world. Even the 7th Day Adventists had their day in 1912 come and go.

We'll probably doom ourselves off from an accidental launch by Russian ICBMs, it almost happened in 1995...POST Cold War, but that can happen 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now...who knows?

Well, it WILL end someday, but the minute someone starts claiming to know WHEN the end will come, I just shake my head.

There have been doomsayers from the beginning of time and I expect that there will be until the end (no pun intended), and I tend to think that those who say it will end tomorrow, or next year, or that it ended in 1922 really believe that they're doing others a service by trying to warn them (though if it ended in 1922, they're a little late, don't you think?) to be ready.

My personal belief is to live my life in such a manner that I'll be ready for the end whenever it arrives, whether tomorrow or in a hundred or more years from now.

Because those minority are ignorant and that when they said it is the End of the World and it never happened, they had to (put there tails between there legs) because by using scared tactics those people spreading rumours of the End of the World where part of Satan's plan, which is to forget everything of our world and to destroy what beauty God has left on this planet, about 80%.

There scare tactic never worked.

Now we must rebuild the trust of the people that where effected.

well, perhaps no one could really predict the end of the world. several people (no offense) may tend to "predict" the end out of the concern they feel over the issue. as it is believed, the end will come at a time least expected. therefore, perhaps those people who make "predictions" may just wish to ascertain that they are ready for the time to come. their specifications may just serve as a wake up call for reformation, repentance and the like in preparation for what is definitely to come.

I'm not saying it will end a certain time and people are stupid saying they know when it will, but I think it will within the next 15 years. Sombody is going to set off a nuke and one nuke go's off a lot more nukes go off and the nukes that they can make now days can blow the earth away with radiation, Usa has a nuke that could nuke this world 4 times and if another pist off country gets one that can blow half the world then boom they use two and we are all dead.

You answered your own question. "These people think they are so superior ...". They have shown themselves to be fools, as well as incorrect. A great man said, "It is better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt". They should have paid attention to him.
