Girl, you've gotta take better care of yourself. Get some rest, and remember to eat once in awhile so that your blood sugar doesn't drop so fast that you pass out. And tell your mother in law to get out of your tree!!!

Home,
Actually, it IS possible to faint while lying down. I've done it, and it's not a good sign.
However, since this is the first time for you, and since there are extraordinary circumstances surrounding your faint, I don't think that it's time to worry just yet.
Get plenty of rest, make sure that you eat right and drink enough water, and you'll probably be OK.
Now, if it happens again, that's when you should start wondering.
There really are many reasons for fainting. Most are benign, but some are quite dangerous and need a doctor. Before you fainted, did you notice having a strange heartbeat, too fast or too slow? How did you feel when you woke up? How old are you? I assume that you are young so you probably don't have many of the heart or vessel conditions that can cause fainting.
So it could have been the stuff that you have control over, such as blood sugar (eating), dehydration, and stress, which could have caused a drop in blood pressure when you were upright.
Had you been sitting and got up just before you passed out?
You're not on any medications, are you?
And (sorry to ask this),
You're not pregnant?
Other than these considerations, I would believe that it was stress-related. Get some rest, and please don't fall down again.

It could be from stress. Stress causes a lot of problems. There are also a lot of reasons why you fainted. Relief might have been one reason, if it were after an event over which you were anxious. Dealing with in-laws can also cause stress. A sudden drop in blood pressure, maybe due to relief, lower adrenalin, might have caused you to pass out. I'm not a doctor so you best get a check up and see if a doctor can find out what happened as fainting is not normal. It might have been a one time thing, but better safe and find out if there were a problem, or not, then be sorry and let it go. I don't, of course, know what your life situation is. Best help for any type of stress is to turn your life over to Jesus Christ and let God have control(they are one and the same). He has more time and resources then you do and can handle your problems better. Look, it ain't nothin' to get hung about. God bless you.

stress usually elevates the blood pressure but severe tiredness and worry would lower it causing fainting. Otherwise it could be from anaemia-you may need more iron in your diet or supplements. You may be pregnant. You may have an unknown condition or illness. You should really inform your doctor, get a few tests done. If you went down with such force then it was a big fall of pressure for some reason or other. You may have got a bad bump too.

Syncope is usually caused by a lack of blood circulation to the brain. It can happen if you're sitting down for an extended period of time and the blood pools in your legs (ex: on an airplane). However, other phenomenons cause it as well - poor nutrition (not getting enough calories and nutrients to feed the brain), pain, having a sensitive vasovagal system (hearing bad news, seeing a car accident and fainting), and certainly stress. Stress is recognized by the American Heart Association as being one factor to cause syncope, or passing out/fainting.
I'm sorry you fainted and hurt yourself - if you ever get a similar sensation to the one you felt right before you went down, lie down and elevate your feet in the air to restore blood flow to the brain. It's impossible to pass out if you're lying down.

Im guessing its most likely from stress. Try relaxing for a few days, lie around, watch tv. But it might not be stress either. You mihgt have an eating disorder, or just from exhaustion. Consulting a doctor would be best. Get your blood pressure, thats the most likely way to determine whether its from stress or not. Good luck =)

It's possible that it's stress related however it could also be because of dehydration. I've had 2 different friends on separate occasions faint. When they went to the hospital, their doctor told them that they were dehydrated. If it happens again get it checked it out.

So many possible answers. If you are a diabetic patient (sorry if you are not). it could be due to low or high sugar in your blood.
My eldest sister fainted a couple of times in the last 20 months. The first time the doc said it's due to low blood sugar and the second time, a month ago, it was due to low blood pressure (suggestive of high blood sugar). Take care.

Well I could visit the doctor. Could be stress, or something else. Are you pregnant and do not know it? Anemic? Hypoglycemic?
I would see the doc. I hope you feel better. Never allow people to get you that upset. Set your boundaries with this woman or she will make you nuts!
