All methods of hormonal birth control (including the Pill, the "patch," Depo-Provera, emergency contraception, etc.) work in three ways:

1. By attempting to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg)
2. By thickening cervical mucus, which may prevent sperm from reaching the egg
3. By changing the lining of the womb to prevent a newly conceived human being from implanting in the womb, causing his or her death.

The IUD also works by preventing the newly conceived child from implanting in the womb.

Some would like to change the definition of the beginning of pregnancy from fertilization to implantation. That way, they can say that hormonal birth control only "prevents pregnancy." This is scientifically dishonest. Even medical textbooks recognize that life begins at fertilization:

By the time implantation occurs, the child is already 5-9 days old.

All the morning after pill does is makes the uterus lining uninhabitable for the egg to implant itself. An egg isn't considered viable till its implanted and even then only 1 in 5 make it past the first week. So I would consider it emergency contraceptive. It would have to be a viable embryo that is killed in order for it to be considered an abortion.
To consider the morning after pill an abortion pill someone would also have to consider regular birth control pills as abortions as well since the morning after pill is the same thing that's in birth control pills (synthetic hormones) in a higher concentration.

Having lots of abortions is stupid while delivery administration is so available. besides, an abortion is a medical technique. every time any medical technique is accomplished there's conceivable of issues. Having dissimilar concepts will strengthen the opportunities of there being a issue. thus a woman would finally end up not being waiting to have little ones while she needs them. Regardless, none of this has something to do with no remember if or not abortion would desire to be criminal. a woman nonetheless would desire to have the main appropriate to come back to a decision if she is going to have a baby. The abortion foes would desire to look at this as an danger, a thank you to decrease the type of abortions by merchandising delivery administration options.

the morning after pill makes the womb inhospitable for the egg to implant into the uterus. it is emergency contraceptive.
Reasons for my answer:

1) if there is not an egg implanted, it cannot be abortion
2) abortion is not an over-the-counter drug, you have to go to some kind of clinic to get one done
3) it simply prevents conception before it happens, it doesnt terminate it

im not stating opinion, only fact. i am not saying it is right or wrong, it is not my place to say.

blessed be :)

Plan B is not the same as having an abortion. It doesn't destroy a fertilized egg or cause it to detach from the uterine wall after it has been implanted. It simply prevents implantation. That's why it is integral to take it within the first 72 hours after sex. Check out the site below for more information.

the same people telling you abortion is wrong are probably also telling you that we should be in war in iraq so your willing to send young men to war to either kill or be killed but because the church says abortion is wrong you go along with it
abortion should be the individuals decision not all people want to have a baby and some have really good reasons poverty or rape the idea that is murder is questionable
is war murder?
morning after pill arent abortion pills they simply block fertilization so to call them abortion is silly

If you think about it, you have to take it 72 hours afterwards. Its not abortion there isnt even something there that is visable to the naked eye. Its an emergency contaceptive, at least in my eyes. It it was "abortion" They wouldnt sell it over the counter to 18+ year olds at the corner drug store.
