Yes, my Dear One, you may use just Gay but I prefer the term Madame myself. Lesbian is the norm but our names are much more preferable when in company. It's always nice not to refer to your freind as" this is my Lesbian freind Bonnie" when you can just say her name. I'm certain you'll catch on just fine! Good luck!

In the context of description, gay or lesbian works for female. Lesbian is the preferred term. (When talking to a lesbian though, they like to be called by name LOL)

Either are perfectly acceptable, I personally prefer "gay" over lesbian as I'm not solely a lesbian and I think bisexual is way to ambiguous.
I guess I'd be described as "queer" in many circles, but I don't bend gender, I'm female and there's no question about it. I'm not physically weak and don't exclusively socialize in the GLBT community.
I'm a mom, first and foremost. I'm a partner second and everything else comes a close third.

Homosexuals are just that--homosexuals. Usually, the term for a homosexual woman is lesbian and the term for a homosexual man is homosexual.

The word gay was once defined as being happy, care-free, and joyous. It still is in my book.

Typically, the men are considered gay while the women are considered lesbians. I don't think anyone (homosexual) will take offense if you follow the guideline there.

Well, I'm a lesbian myself...I don't really prefer one over the other. Either work, though I'm sure some people might have a preference. I just don't like the use of other words, such as dyke or lesbo. They just seem too derogatory.

Hope that helped.

Either/or. Lesbian is gender-specific (i.e. a man can't be a lesbian), but to call a woman gay is perfectly acceptable.

I just try to call people what they call themselves... I personally don't like being called a lesbian and I identify as gay... just shorter and sweerer.
