Well, I think people are getting more educated and understanding the dangers of tanning and sun exposure in general. Too many people are getting diagnosed at a young age with either malignant melanoma, or other skin cancers. They beauty industry is now recommending sunscreens and many of the makeups have sunscreen in it already. Also people now know that tanning ages the skin, so in today's day and age where everyone is trying to look younger, tanning is a thing of the past.

i think that people are more aware of the dangers of tanning...both with the sun and the tanning booths. some color is good...but i think the days of dark dark dark are over.....
after all...you are born the shade you are supposed to be....why not stick with it...
a little history of tanning...it used to be that ladies that were tanned were not considered real ladies. it showed that they did their own work...gardening, hanging out clothes, etc. then a tan became popular because hanging out getting one was the in thing and showed that you had the time to do so and didn't have to work....lol...so you see that having a tan changes just as the fashions do....

I live in a cold climate in the winter and everyone still tans here. I need the sunlight in the winter time and our body still needs the Vitamin D it gives. I only go once a week and I feel great.

dont problem about if its going out of fashion or not, in case you want a tan, then flow for it! The solar beds do pose a danger pof skin maximum cancers although so a twig on tan is larger contained in the destiny. i for my section desire light skin yet thats basically my opinion.

I just started going to the tanning booth for the first time. Maybe some people have gotten out of the habit, but now all my friends and I are back at it.

yes, tanning is out of style. Many are getting skin cancer, like the others said, but also, many in the beauty business are beginning to reconize the angelo-saxon pale. =)

Maybe you aren't seeing as many tan people because they finally realized that they are getting skin cancer.

No way! Looking ghostly white isn't in style, but being carrot orange isn't either. People are being smarter about the sun!
