Yes, it usually starts as a brownish color. That may be all you get and it's over until the next time, which may be in a month or even longer. Periods aren't usually normal (every 28 days) for awhile after having your first period.

Yes, this is normal. What you saw might be dried blood (blood looks brown when it is dried). Discharge from your period does not look the same as regular blood ~ you have to keep in mind that you are shedding the lining of your uterus along with blood. Sometimes your first period will be very light. Sometimes it takes several years to start having a regular cycle ~ some women never have a regular cycle.
P.S. Height has nothing to do with when you get your period. I'm 5'10" and got mine when I was ten.

It's normal. If you feel ill or anything though, talk to your mom or doctor. Every now and then I get that a few days before starting mine. I actually appreciate the warning.

Yes, usually when your period starts or sis just about to end, the blood is brownish in color. It's normal :)

Yeah... its completely normal. The first time I got mine I didn't even notice and I only had it for a day or two.

When I first got mine there was like a small spot of brownish "blood" on my undies
So yea, im pretty sure its ur period.
As time progresses...its get more and more like red blood.
Trust me.

I dunno but how tall are you, taller girls generally get it later. I dated a girl in high school who was 5'10 and she didn't get hers till she was 16
