buckcherry is not punk!!!!! >.< lol. they good tho! face down is a good song, like that one dude says, then the band cartel has a lot of good songs like runaway or honesty, another punk type song is the stand, by last tuesday. you may not know them, but i think they good. as far as rap, idk, i cant really help you... its not really my thing..... but, some other good punk bands are bowling for soup, blink 182, simple plan (a few songs are punkish), hawk nelson, time bomb. if you go to a lyrics site, you can find a bunch of these songs, and a good place to listen to songs is either purevolume.com, or codesandlyrics.com, if you didnt already know that.

i'm precisely like you! I dig the rock n' roll yet i think like throwing something at someones head when I hear rap. (Rap is crap!) yet in any case my in demand rock band is device. i'm confident you've heard of them. the reason i respect them is because their lyrics recommend a lot than those stupid rhyming ones in recent times that recommend not something, or on the fringe of it. And their song. My god. stay is yet another band i respect, regardless of if that is extra like mushy rock(?). besides, keep on with the rock! :)
