Personal Rights are not the issue, the absence of Virtue, Integrity, Ethics, Morality and Responsibility is where the problems are.

Take any negative issue, any where on this earth, and you will find the issues locked up in the lack of four items noted above.

Have you compromised your Code of Ethics lately? Have you sold your Integrity for a easy $? Have you opened your mouth when you witnessed someone being unjustly abused?

Not at all if u r an American living in the U.S. That's what this country is all about..it's what sets us apart from others. If u want to be like everyone else, & don't feel like u want any personal "rights"' u could check out Japan, or better still, China. In many other places, probably in MOST other places, u wont have so much emphasis placed on you, and your rights & value as an individual. Many have paid the ULTIMATE PRICE so u can have & enjoy your personal rights. Y'see, we're "free" because of those that paid the ultimate price, cuz the truth is, freedom is not free.

I think it is, yes, among plenty of other things. There are certain things, both legally and morally, that we should be willing to give up for what is right. Again, I think of God as an example when I answer questions like this one; we give up our flesh for Him to gain true Freedom. In the same manner, there are 'personal rights' that we must give up in order to maintain freedom in this country for everyone. That is perhaps one reason why I don't talk about political and social issues very much; I have a tendency to hold beliefs that are not what society follows and I just don't care to deal with the debates that are a result of those types of discussions...I've a fierce temper ;)

No.
We are actually losing (in the U.S.) more civil and personal freedoms all the time.
I think we need to start working towards renewing and protecting these freedoms.
Protected personal freedom is the only real difference between our form of government and those we wouldn't want to be under.

We are losing our personal rights for society's gain, yet society is selfish and we want our own rights.
