The big bang did not start in any specific location in spacetime. It encompassed all of spacetime, as the universe expanded.
There is never anything outside of space because the universe contains all that is physical, and there is no point before time because time is a characteristic of the universe does not exist separate from the universe. This is known in cosmology as the containment principle

The Big Bang was an event outside the laws of physics of this universe so can't be explained by those laws. However, since then the universe operates under those laws, to the extent we know them which is considerable. Under those laws our universe will gradually cool. All the stars will use up their energy and fade out. The universe will become dark and cold forever. However, its is very likely that humanity will soon understand how, and be able to actually create a new universe and quite likely will be able to move into that universe when the time comes. Our species, or more accurately what we will become, will persist until the end of time.

If the Big Bang indicates a spontaneous formation of the universe from a minute sustance, whaT prevents a reverse spontaneous compression of the Universe back to its original form.Than the Bang would than a new theory of reverse Bang.
The compressed mass would be in the order of 10^53 kg. Perhaps into a volume no smaller than 2 cubic meters.

The actual cause of the big bang may forever be unknowable but the fact is we are here.
The universe is also a finite entity and one day will go out of existence.
The means of the demise of the universe is unknown but it may be possible to postulate a logical scenario. At the end there will be nothing!

Of course, it hasn't worked itself out yet; the expansion of the initial explosion is continuing. It could continue to do so forever, or it might reach a maximum and start contracting and end in a cosmic crunch, and astronomers are busy trying to figure out which of those scenarios is the more likely.

lol, one or two light years... (snigger) space is so large that its beyond our reckoning, it can't be measured as its always expanding, and the end, will be the end of everything, either crashing into another universe, or a giant black, like Sagittarius A West will absorb every thing, and possibly make another big bang.

THE BIG BANG IS FALSE!!! nothing can just apear like that from a so called BANG. God made the world. And there is gonna be an end to it. You can get your heart right with God and go to HEAVEN or not get your heart right and go to HELL.
