i want to add 1 tbsp. of salt to my 10 gallon tank. wut kind of salt do i have to use? can i use table salt or can i use kosher salt?

the salt that i have is morton salt, and i said it has no iodine in it...will this work?

Go to Petsmart or Petco or any other popular pet store. There is specific Salt that must be used for aquariums especially salt water aquariums. The brand i always used is called Instant Ocean....it comes in a variety of sizes.

Your iodine free Morton's will work fine, but the roper stuff is probably better. Never had a problem with either in the several years I have used it.

Make sure your fish are compatible though, cats and frogs (among others) are not.

I would get sea salt from an Aq supply. Table salts, in addition to iodine, has SUGAR in it to help it flow.

That would just feed bateria in your tank.

You don't want to use iodized salt. Aquarium salt is not expensive and it has no Iodine in it

go to the pet store purchase the correct aquariam salt

kosher salt will do if that's all you have. aquarium salt is pretty cheap.. it's cheaper than table salt i think.
