You should beable to, I know people around here get some kind of help called hud where they halp pay your rent. I don't know to much about it though ask the welfare dept about it they might beable to assist you in the right way. A person I know gets hud food stamps and they get money from the state called a grant thing I think it aint that much but he works under the table also. Has your husband singed up for unemployment yet? Good Luck

You can always look for a job. There is enough people on welfare as it is. Maybe you should take a continuing ED classes, to get a trade of some kind. What will you do if he decide to move on from you? Will you get on welfare then? Do something for yourself and the welfare of your children. I'm sure you could get welfare, but then you will have to lie about that grown man staying with you and not working. You called him your man. Not husband. I would suggest for you not to tell the GOV. a lie about the reason you need welfare. Oh and they will put you working. You won't stay on it long. They also have a program for mothers trying to work or go to school. They will help you with daycare for your kids, and as far as you getting on welfare, because your''man'' lost his job and you don't know what to do. It won't go as easy as some might think.

To get food stamps they count ur family income .. if he's not working, he can get it (with 2 kids).. However, he will be req. to work so many hours a week to get them and keep them.. He will probably get temp assistance (1-3 months) and then if he is still not working have to go back and reapply.. Go to your states food stamp online site..it should list how many you can get max.. and how much income u have to have to not qualify. U should apply for medicaid on the kids too. U qualify if they have no insurance converage.. Contact the state DHS office and fill out a form and they can tell you more.. Each state is different.

How about getting YOUR *** out of the house and getting a job too? How about 'your man' applying at walmart, mcdonalds, home depoe....ANYWHERE!

Awesome how hopping onto the public dole is the first thing that comes to mind.

If you are really that close to ruin, why did you have 4 kids? It's not the rest of societies job to support you. Many of us can't have kids because we can't afford them at the present time, so it's just insulting to expect the rest of us to support yours.

First of all he needs to go to the unemployment office and file for unemployment. Then you BOTH need to go to the welfare office to see if you QUALIFY for welfare. The first thing they will ask YOU is why aren't YOU working and they will expect YOU as well as your husband to look for employment.

If I am not mistaking isn't walfare for families without a parent? I'm not sure. but you can go to your local Health and Human services office and let them know your situation and ask what is avialable to you. Also call information and ask for the number to your housing authorties because they can help with rent. Go to local churches alot of them help pay bills and get food.

Also at the health and human services you will qauilfy for food stamps and with a family of 6 you should get plenty. You didn't mention where you live but i'm sure you can find help. Local churches are great.

Call the welfare office in your town. Only they can tell you if you will qualify for assistance.

I would imagine that you could. Just probably would have to let them know your family situation, and I don't see why not. And besides the fact that they'll look into him being employed or not.
