I think that it is stereotyping. For some reason it's a known fact that Mexicans and Puerto Ricans do not get along.I do not know why but they don't.I think you should let your teacher know that it is not okay for him to say things like that. That was very insensitive. It does not matter if Puerto Ricans are present or not he should not have made that comment especially since he is a teacher and should be setting an example. If you want you can quote me on that last part.I am a teacher and will be d*mned if I ever said anything like that to my students. That won't ever happen in my class and I don't tolerate racial comments/stereotypes whether the group is represented or not.He shouldn't either.

Question?? Do you learn punctuation, grammar, and spelling in your school?
1. I am in high school IN Texas. 2. I should TELL YOU something, my teacher is German-Mexican, and I am new to his class. 3. He said that MEXICANS should be in the inner circle, and HELP each other, but he said that WE SHOULDN"T be like the PUERTO RICANS because THEY are stubborn. 4. I was really offended BECAUSE I know I am Puerto Rican and proud, but I'm not stubborn - what SHOULD I do?
Ask your Mexican-German teacher to help you with English grammar. Tell him you are Puerto Rican and you not appreciate his labelling Puerto RIcans as "stubborn."
Best wishes, chicarica.

stereotyping. And actually this whole thing with Mexicans and Puerto Ricans happens in my neighborhood. I can't comment on it, because I don't know the story until I ask.

Sounds like he dislikes his other half. I would go up
to him and tell him that you don't appreciate racial
slurs in the classroom. You came to school to get
an education, which is whatever he teaches. If you
wanted to hear ignorance, you can get that out in
the community free.

That is stereotyping. You could talk to the principal or have one of your parents do it. It happens often. I'm sorry that it happened. I hope he doesn't do it again.

It's just stereotyping.
I don't believe that he really wanted you to take it so badly.
