I had the same feelings when I was in high school.

I was 5'5" and 117 lbs of muscle. Every time I would bend in a way that my skin wrinkled up, I thought it was fat.

Maybe it's just a phase we go through, but don't take for granted the size you are now. I have been in college four years now and gained almost 20 lbs and lost 15 of it. I can definitely say I don't feel fat now. I think you have to have been there to understand or be able to appreciate what you have now.

First off, dancing feels good, so you should do it not only for others but for yourself. Secondly, dancing will burn fat. I dance a lot, because it makes me feel good. I am able to express myself. I don't worry about looking fat and I am 5'2" and 130 lbs. What makes you feel fat when you dance? Do you feel fat when you are not dancing? Maybe you have a poor image of yourself which could be the result of low self-esteem. Low self-esteem is VERY common, especially for women regarding looks. I hope you resolve your issue and feel great the next time you dance!

I believe... that you shouldn't be self-concious about your weight because of how you look to other people but rather because you know that it's not healthy to be overweight in the long run. You should be comfortable in the skin you're in, the first step to being happy w/ ur image in the mirror is to imagine yourself as u physically are rite now but happy emotionally. Believe it, let this be your image of yourself. Then when you dance, it won't matter how you look it will matter because you'll feel good letting yourself express emotions healthily. Along w/ this make it a long term goal to improve your overall health. Good Luck.

believe me that is not fat! sometimes I feel fat when I take gymnastics too but I realized that you may feel fat not because you are fat but because the other girls in your class are skinny. If you feel it really necessary to lose weight then cut down on the sweets but your doing exercise and you seem skinny to me so if I were you I wouldn't worry about it.
