You should get him a leopard gecko Much more fun than a frog and they are really easy to take care of. here is a website with a caresheet on leopard geckos and another one below on frogs.

dont get her a frog unless you are sure she is willing and able to look after it,and not flush it down the toilet.
it may sound like a great idea but it isnt.
