"In real life" people feel more comfortable, therefore they are more open.

I would not call this a sign of a deeper person rather a sign of being normal.

In order to get people to open up more on MSN try to set a fun and happy atmosphere from the start.

Some people use the internet as an escape from reality. Being a different person in some cases. Some lie to people because they have no self esteem. But there are others who use the internet to bring out the feelings in their lives that they cannot seem to share with people in person. In some ways I am the same as this. Writing to me can convey more than speech. I guess it is also a sense of security when you have the "backspace" button before you press send.

Now I guess we can talk about getting people to open up to you. Just like in real everyday life, to get people to open up to you requires trust. If a person cannot trust you, they will not open up. It's that simple. You can do this, by listening to them. Not only understanding the words they are typing, but read in between the lines. Look beyond the words for the person on the inside. Really get to know them so to speak.

If you are talking about people you don't know and will never meet, then I do think you can reach them at a much greater depth. Being anonymous enables one to be more open. I think email does too, although everyone I know disagrees with me and thinks it makes people deceitful. But my cup is half full, so yes,
Good Luck!! @8=)

on a messenger people seem to be a totally different person, like another personality. Just let it go, there is nothing you can do about it.
