I just wish the government would apply all the laws already on the books. We are being TAKEN OVER and there is no one to stop this, regardless of what is printed. The token arrests are just pacifiers as far as I am concerned.

Absolutely not!! It's a total disgrace that we still have illegals streaming across the border after 9/11. But neither side has any interest in stopping it - they're afraid of pissing off and thus losing the Latino vote.

Our government isn't handling it at all lol. They're just pretending to to placate the masses. Clearly they WANT the illegal immigration to continue. Why, I'm not sure but I think it's a short term answer to some of our problems which is going to have to be paid for in the future. Kind of like borrowing money to pay off a loan lol.

A simple thing like a mandatory 5 years in prision for hiring an illegal immigrant and it would end almost immediatly because it would be too risky to hire them.

If you don't like what you're seeing my suggestion is, buy land and become partly or wholely self sufficient.

Everyone is welcome to the USA. The best country in the world. There are responsibilities that come with our welcome. You must become a tax payer to contribute to the welfare of all. You can not commit crimes to your fellow country man, woman or child. If you do not subscribe to these basic tenants you will be asked to leave. Not open to negotiation. As a courtesy to your host country you will communicate in the preferred language. You don't like it? Do not come here.

Many people from around the world have made this country great. They have all contributed. I am amazed that some people
come to this country and not bother learn to speak English. To me that is very disrespectful. I would never go to another country and not learn their language.

I was amazed that the our state's Division of Motor Vehicles had the written exam to obtain the privilege to drive available in 26 languages. Give me a break.

This author has the right take on the problem. Seal the borders, deport the unlawful extraterrestrial beings. placed people to artwork at first rate wages, then set immigration quotas and allow in only upright regulation-abiding those who can make a contribution to our society. placed the U. S. voters and our safe practices first for a replace.

No. We need to do 3 things:
1) Control our borders.
2) Enforce existing laws against hiring illegal aliens.
3) Set realistic immigration quotas.

Without all 3, problems will continue.

I am so fed up with our gov. when it comes to war, global warming, and illegal immigrants. I agree, go back to the laws that are on the books, and enforce them for goodness sake. Enough is enough. I don't care if they come, but do it legally. I say, we have gotten to the point where if they cross the border, shoot first, ask questions later. How do we know they are not terrorists? Why let them come and take our jobs, social security, welfare - I for one, am sick and tired of paying taxes so that I can get ripped off by the illegal aliens with false documentation sitting back collecting soc. sec, and welfare. Woooo - That felt good, thanks for letting me vent!!!

No they aren't handling it properly, everyone is just tiptoeing around it, afraid to tick off the ACLU, afraid the immigrants will start rioting, afraid of the businesses who employ illegals. No one wants to step up and say ENOUGH.

There is no consensus on what should be done. Enforcement of existing laws amount to a "catch and release" program.

I agree. The laws are there, but they are being ignored.I can't believe our government isn't being more careful with our borders after we have already been attacked, you would think after that they would have been locked down, but they are worse now than ever.
