I have been both, alone and lonely, is better than being with someone and being miserable, because usually when you are miserable you are lonely, anyway.

Odds are that if you are with someone and are miserable you'll be lonely anyway. So I'll take alone and lonely. There's potential in that!

Honestly, I rather be alone and lonely because the peace is welcome, I have my friends and family, and I would use the time to grow and expand myself as a person. I wouldn't settle for less and be someone who I don't want to be with, life is to short.
