Well, for one, a 1997 isn't a classic. Even if it is a Trans Am. Has the LT1 engine in it. There are allot out there, and depends on what your interested in getting. Intake, and Mass Air Meter are a decent upgrade, along with headers and exhaust, and then a Cold air intake, and also underdrive pulleys. Just to name a few parts there. Best to look in Summit, or Jegs. They are big on GM stuff. Good luck.

for 2 grand you can get lots of stuff. if i were you i would get a Borla cat back exhaust system. thats about 700-800. then air intake, and a throttle body. then hyperthec chip to wrap it all up. all of these things you can do yourself, and i bet you'd be looking at a extra 30-50 horse power at the wheels.

I know you want to go fast but i would keep it stock and work on the outside. Fresh paint, meaty tires, new emblems and stickers. That will make you stick out more and make proud to get in your car.

your car is a classic, keep it stock and well maintained and it will be much more valuable over time than if you mess with it.
