Every year around mid-January, public schools, television specials and newspapers go nuts indoctrinating people about the god-like status of the prestigious "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." However, no one ever mentions that he was a communist, and that he plaigarized his dissertation, and that he beat women, and that he loved his "white bitches."

So why is this?

It's amazing that so many people react with such disbelief. The American education system has so fully indoctrinated these unthinking slobs, that even if they were capable of doing the research into the life of the "king", they wouldn't be willing to put forth the effort to do so.

For some of the documentation your 'answerers' are looking for: pick up a January 19th, 1998 copy of Newsweek magazine.

I'm very thankful for Martin Luther King. It's nice to have a three day weekend in January, and I never complain about a paid holiday.

Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will shoot Al Sharpton to death in March or April so we can fill in the void between President's Day and Memorial Day.

History books and historians remember only that which they want to remember. Sometimes the darker side of history falls through the cracks. It happened with Christopher Columbus and his genocide. It happened with Thomas Jefferson and his love for Sally Hemmings. It happened with Abraham Lincoln and his suicidal tendencies. You are doing your part as an historian, keep up the good work.

No one really caresto tell you the truth, for students it's just a day off from school... and think about it... if they did teach the TRUTH, then w-e good he ever spoke about would not be taken to heart because of his character flaws. Who would follow the teachings of a man who spoke about commaraderie amongst man, but who beat women on the side. Take a closer look at history in general, when is the WHOLE truth ever told, look at thansgiving for example

The reason that no one speaks the truth about that man is because he is black. In our country it has become racist to say anything negative about a black person even if it is true. But its OK to down any white person. The same reasoning is behind the black clubs on campus. If a white club was started there would be a hoard of blacks protesting crying racism.

I have to say that I have come to realize the same in the man.
In fact at the very motel where he got shot there was some hanky panky going on with he and his circle the night before.

Dirt can be found on just about any political figure, they are human not saints. However, I prefer to stick to the present, since that is what is affecting us right now. Watch this video:

For the same reason we don't teach that Washington was a slave holder or that Lincoln suffered psychological problems..We don't celebrate the man, we celebrate his accomplishments.

I doubt what you are saying is at all true.

Also, if everybody read Thoreau's essay on civil disobedience and insisted on fair treatment it would change society in some serious ways. There is a lot of prejudice against all sorts of people still. Refusing to cooperate with an evil and unjust system is still a powerful tool that all of us have.

this is a great question, and you are right, it is organized brainwashing, and we will have to wait for the FBI files to be released for the truth about this ordinary man to come out.
you are right, he did love the white hookers, but i think he was wrong to beat them, that's not right for a "man of peace" to beat women, even if they were hookers
