Well, I feel differently at different times. My father in law has a really bad temper, and I've had my fair share of arguments with him but even though he has a tendency to raise his voice, I know that he has a soft spot and would go out of his way for me (which he has done many times.) I feel similarly about my mother in law, I know she will go out her way for me but, there is a bit of a formal relationship there. I know she likes me but she is very persistent and often pressures me into have children ASAP. So, I like both of their company but there is a bit of formality there.

When I was married, I got along great with them. All mother-inlaw jokes aside, she was a fantastic lady and we got along wonderfully together. Looked forward to all their visits, and they were always around to help when we needed a hand. They were and are fantastic grandparents as well. Even after the divorce we have remained friends, much to my ex's chagrin.

On a good day, they're ok. Most days, I have a tolerance problem. He's a church staff member/musician/preacher. She spends her time worrying about what the neighbors think. Pretty much my opposite.

I have a Step-father, and I really don't know why my mum stays with him. He's a complete misery. Perhaps they have good sex, but I really don't want to think about that.

I'm not married, but I get along great with my bf's family, they treat me like one of the family. His dad called me "butthead" once, so now when I go in the house and they say "who is it?" I say "it's butthead!".
