3D Studio Max Character Site?

Is there a site that has pre-made files of characters and environments? I'm pretty sure there's one out there, but I don't know where to start. Right now I'm just looking to fool around with some models and see if I can enhance anything. Mainly looking for video game characters like Mario, Link, Sonic, Mega Man, etc. But anything is fine! Thank you so much!
