The high rate of unemployment among teenagers, and especially black teenagers, is both a scandal and a serious source of social unrest. Yet it is largely a result of minimum wage laws. We regard the minimum wage law as one of the most, if not the most, anti-black laws on the statute books. – Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize-winning economist

I agree with Friedman, who was quite right on many things. I very much doubt he's wrong; I'm sure that Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Ayn Rand, Van Mises and Rush would agree w/Milton.

I'm sure that Carter, Arafat & other such NP winning quacks would be all for minimum wages; as they understand nothing of property & individual rights.

Yes, of course they can be wrong. Friedman is not entirely right if he thinks it is "just a black problem". And for that matter, the people choosing who gets awards can be very wrong. Jimmy Carter for one example. What was his award for, anyway? It wasn't for being a good president, that's for sure.

I agree minimum wage increase causes employers to skim down their work force because of the increased wages they have to pay. They find it rationale to cut out the least experienced to save money and it usually hurts teens particularly black teens.

Yes, he can be wrong. Friedman wasn't wrong that minimum wage is harmful, but he over-states it as being anti-black.

I agree with the statement, but didn't Jimmy Carter also wil a Nobel Prize? His current anti-Israel book is apparently so full of **** that people who have worked for him for years will no longer do so, because he is so full of it. Not that I was surprised - I've always thought he was full of ****.

Have a nice day.

Just because someone gives you a Nobel Prize doesn't mean you know everything. His comment sounds more like an opinion rather than a fact.
