I live in what feels like a rain forest, i.e., the Tennessee Valley, where the humidity is 60-100% just about all the time, at all times of the year. I'm looking for a place with better weather, not just less humid but relatively mild temps (i.e. not 110 degree summers!) Does anyone have an idea where this might be? I like the Southeast US pretty well, except for the humidity, which gets harder to take every year. And my husband's allergies and discomfort from excess humidity are getting so bad he can't sleep properly. I'd like to escape the jungle without moving to the desert. Thanks for your answers!

Asheville, NC, is cool because it's a higher elevation. It was actually known as a place to go for people with respiratory disorders (as was Denver). I've always enjoyed visiting Asheville, and if you want to stay in the southeast, it may be worth a look. Good luck!

Colorado..... I know there has been a lot of snow and cold temps on the news recently but most of the time the weather is pretty moderate. It can be a little hot in the summer and sometimes much too chilly in the winter but overall we have many days of sunshine and best of all no humidity. The best I can say to help over-come the thought that it always really cold is there are many years where on Christmas day I can remember the temperature being between 55 and 65.
