I am going to be traveling throughout Italy this summer and I am trying to convince my Mom that it is safe because she thinks I am going to be sexual harrassed or something. So how can I get her to calm down and stop worrying about me ?

Doesn't matter where you go, you can be sexually harassed anywhere and everywhere.

Italy is very safe. My friend and I went there a while ago , two
big guys and the women seemed very relaxed around men
and we , as tourist encountered nothing but very nice people
. The women are very engaging , much more then home
, they'll strike up a conversation easily. This leads me to believe they're more confident about themselves physically and socially.
One night we were walking up a very narrow alley and a woman
was approaching from the opposite end. She didn't hesitate at
all , I commented to my friend that you would never find that
to be the case in many countries.
Most women wouldn;t think of it.
Yes, you may find the stereotype behavior but it's just that , a
stereotype. I only saw it once in a month of traveling around.
Relax. Men there are very respectful and polite.

Because Italians are the greatest...ever! We feed strangers like family, and theres nothing better than being feed by an Italian!
