It might depend on the programs you run and how many you try to run. We gave a few users at work dual core machines. One noticed a small difference with some programs. The none at all. Programs have to be complied to best make use of the dual cores. Our programmer has a dual core, big difference when compiling.

oh yes it will...from running one program to eleven, using a dual core processor will greatly increase efficiency as well as your ability to multitask without having to go through freezing and lagging...to invest in a dual core, or even a dual 2 core would be an extremely advantageous idea...i say do it and the differences will be greatly noticeable

Yes I notice a major difference.. Like when I am running a program that takes all of my 1.66 ghz 1st core all of the computers vital processes are moved to the second 1.66 ghz core. so when running a very demading game your computer does not lag.

Only if you're running more than one programs at the same time. You can also see the difference on any app that is multi-treaded. For single-threaded application, you won't see any difference.
