Yeah it should, I know some people are responsible but most people do not pay attention to what they are doing when they are on their cell phones. I cant even count the number of times I have been an inch away from hitting someone because they pulled right out without even paying attention to oncoming traffic. Or maybe just making an age law because it seems like teenagers are the worst and older adults arent quite as bad, but I still think no, if the call is so important that you need to answer it then pull over somewhere and stop.

It is illegal in the county I live in because drivers talking on cellphones even some with the hands free devices were getting into so many wrecks due to not paying attention to the road.

Yes it should. Even when you are using the hands-free device you still take your attention off the road especially when dialling. Hands- free is not the same as talking to a passenger. For some reason your attention becomes focused more upon the phone.

I am 50/50 on this. I agree that cell phones are distracting but they cant make talking on the phone illegal and not make all the other distractions illegal as well. I dont think they should because if they did and were politically correct, they would have to take out all car stereos, air conditioners...etc... They are all distractions too. : )

Oregon has been speaking about making this regulation. If an officer see's someone utilising at the same time as speaking, they could have the right to tug you over and provide you a fee ticket. i have got here on the fringe of being hit many situations at the same time as someone is speaking on the cellular telephone. i'm not confident if the regulation is effect the following yet. I actual have seen very few human beings pull off to the fringe of the line to apply theirs.

I thing BJ's while driving cause alot more accidents than using a cell phone while driving. ... (CJ's ?) However, there seem to no bunches of sign carrying, self richeous idiots out there taking time from bringing up their kids to lobby on this one... WTF?
