It'd be a good way to get rid of someone the freeloaders.

What a thought provoking question, I'm impressed. I would express your thoughts in a letter to your state reps. I think you may get some response. I wrote a suggestion to a senator one time and their office replied right away. They were very polite (and so was my letter). Several years later, a law for the exact same thing was passed. I didn't have anything to do with it, but at least I knew other people must have been thinking along the same lines.

Absolutely. You're right...the freeloaders are out there just waiting and hoping for assistance. I think they should do that in every state and within the Federal Gov. Exceptions would only be prescribe meds for High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Diabetes...and most all other DISEASES that are being treated by a doctor. Not to include Drug Rehab. If they could afford the durgs, they can afford the treatment to get off.

That would be a way to clean up some of the problems, but you couldnt refuse the children food or shelter, the state would have to take them and tax payers would then be responsible for the children.

Then you would have to put the parent in a program. Welfare is only for 2 yrs now and I believe its only 500$. Moms with kids really are not where the big drug problems are.

Maybe we could start with testing the fathers if they are not paying support.

Fortunately I have never been on assistance.

this issue and question has been asked about 1000 times this week.. It would take more money for the govt to do drug testing than some of the people on welfare get.. If u are including food stamps, medicaid, sect. 8, etc. Even if the parents were found to be on drugs..it's not right to take away the health care and food from their kids.. Kids can't control parents. If they are found to be using drugs while on sect. 8..they get kicked off sect. 8. FYI.. most of the FREELOADERS are illegals who get it and don't deserve or need it..

I believe that once you turn 18 or get your first real job that random drug testing should be mandatory. This means that no matter what your employment status is you can be tested. This would create a safer society. Also, by locking up drug users and trying to rehab them in a place where it should be harder to access drugs will help. I worked at a place where there was a lot of people that had drug problems and that is where the company got most of it's work force. Traditional prevention systems do not work on most of them. A good portion were not only smokers, but also took over the counter caffeine pills to boost their performance.

I would have to agree, but would there be random drug tests throughout the time-frame that they are on assistance? That seems that we would have to in order to keep the system from some of the "freeloaders."

it would also be a good way to get your car jacked after your body is pulled out of the seat and left at a random intersection, which could have been prevented by going with the lesser evil, of just giving the freeloader a small check until they kill themselves on drugs!

welfare, is just as much a crime deterrent, as police officers are!

I agree we should get rid of freeloaders and career welfare.
I think we should remove food stamps and set up stores with staple foods, no candy bars, no soda, no cigs. just what they need.
Govt. assistance should be just that.. assitance not a way of life.
we should remove the federal gov. from it completely. someday I hope to see everyone standing on their own or falling on their own. Private charities and families will take care of the people in need.

I think in theory, yes. But what happens in reality? Do these free-loaders get real jobs? Would a drug addict be ABLE & willing to quit in order to recieve assistance? NO! but they would have to survive some other way-robbery, drug dealing, prostitution etc... I think it would cost the tax payer more in police, jails, courts etc... than it would to pya them enough to keep a roof over them and food in their bellies.

No that is unconstitutional and besides they are human too, and how do you know why they are on that rat crap? It could be someone you love. Maybe they were raped, or maybe their baby died from a driveby shooting? Maybe it is only temporary, and they need someone to care about them to get better. I am not a Liberal but I definately believe with all the money we spend on hate in this country we should be spending it on curing people of our own in programs to help individuals, like more educational facilites as well. Besides it was the Bush Clansman that sold and marketed all that crap anyway for 50 years and old lady Barbara Pearce Bush in the pharmeceuticals and made their money on illegal Opium. look it up, they wanted to flood the heroine market to the Blacks in hope of genecide and then they got into cocaine and ask yourself why the Black areas, and why use the Hispanics as the enemy as well? Noreaga? Columbia?
Get wise to what you are saying please, and God Bless.
