By financial and career standards: quite successful

In reality/my own standards (which have evolved over the years):

Not successful, because I'm not happy

My suggestion: Don't shoot to be a doctor or lawyer (or fill in whatever else society puts on a pedastal) just because of status quo. Very few really, REALLY know what they want while in high school. Everyone claims to, but 10 to 15 years later (or sooner) you'll find yourself really growing into your own. Do what really makes you happy in life. 120K a year is only money. It's the "trap" you really have to be willing and able to live with. If you don't like the work you do every day it can become quite miserable.

I'm not really successful on anything right now, I think. Before I get married, I had a career. Now, all I have is a family.

Life: I keep trying, and I'm alive. That has to count for something.

Career: I have a job, and I hope to never need a career. So I'm satisfied, which in my opinion, counts as success.

Family: I am both blessed and cursed, but the blessings far outweigh the curses. I am successful in my family life.

Most importantly to me, I am emotionally successful. I have spent most of my life trying to understand that one, and I have made incredible progress. I am not joking when I say that I love me, and I believe that is the most wonderful thing out there.

So, really, I am a ROCKSTAR!!!!! Woo-hoo!!

Hi Bree...well, that depends on how success is supposed to be measured. I've done a lot of stupid things, but learned from them. I work hard at my job and have earned everything that I have. I have a good marriage, although the early years were rough. My family, for the most part, is in good health and happy. I have good friends and have had the opportunity to travel and see some of our beautiful country. Plus, I have a really great dog whose love is unconditional. In my opinion, I am successful.
