Well as i understand EMT's often have periods of down time between calls. In these periods they are usually bored sinceless so sure talk to him then. If he has to go quickly dont try to keep him and understand he maybe abrupt when he has to go.
Also dont call him to much, and dont call him just to talk. Its very annoying. :-) It might be best just to let him call you when he gets bored most of the time. But still remeber moderation and you will be fine.

It's probably a bad idea to get him all hot and flustered while he is busy saving someone's life. He might accidentally kill them with the wrong medication, or over-shock them with those electric paddle things. Best to wait until he is finished saving lives.
