There are lots of theories and not much evidence to back any of them up. I think they all trekked farther inland looking for food and shelter and were probably taken away by the natives who later killed the men and kept the women for slaves and breeding toys. They were probably eventually all killed. Those whose whom did escape probably didn't last too long in the wilderness.

The Indian technique of war right now exchange into to attack any tribe that selection into attending to aggressive or utilising to many aspects interior the section. the squaddies could be killed, the village burned, and the survivors scattered into the encircling woods. lots of the survivors could be taken in by the tribes that attacked and have been adapted. James city aggravated the encircling tribes as quickly because it exchange into in place, and alter into attacked a minimum of two times. The Indians weren't valuable in breaking apart this "white tribe" and scattering them. even although Roanoke exchange into by itself while aspects did not arrive in time, and that i think they'd have been the sufferer of the community Indian custom of dispersing tribes that have been a burden on the different tribes around them. i think lots of the ladies and little ones survived, and married into the encircling tribes. of direction, no person is responsive to for particular what got here approximately, yet that's my guess.

There are a few different theories, but I think the most accepted one is that the people left their colony to live with the Indians. Whether they left willingly or not is still up for debate.
