I get very anxious when I have friends or people coming to my house. I love to entertain and am always having party's, but about an hour before they show up I freak out. I feel that the house is not clean enough, or I don't have enough food, or maybe they won't even show. I get so psyched up that by the time they show up I am so nervous that I don't enjoy myself. I do however keep on going and keep on planning. I hope one day I will be better.

Feeling hopeless is more a depression issue than an anxiety one. Anxiety exists in numerous forms. Some may feel anxious trying to talk to people or give a speech, but they are able to do it. Another person facing the same prospect, may break into a sweat, their heart pounds, they begin stuttering or even get clumsy and be unable to continue. Another form is anxiety experienced in public. I have had it happen a few times in my life. I just got very nervous (for no apparent reason) with the prospect of going into a very crowded store and I began to shake and sweat. For me it it odd when it happens because I usually don't mind that sort of thing. I love shopping at Christmas time when the malls are crowded. On the other hand, while I can joke and laugh in front of a group of friends, I can not under any circumstance give a speech. I completely freeze up and my heart feels as if will explode. I feel like fainting at the thought.

One way to spell check questions is to compose the question using Microsoft Word, check the spelling, then cut and paste into the question box.

Everyone feels anxiety at some point in their lives. It is only when the anxiety interferes with life that there is a problem.

Anxiety is different than depression; the feeling of hopelessness.

People usually feel this way because of the lack of resources that should have been learned during childhood.

I can't leave my apartment for extended periods of time without feeling totally anxious. I know that if I lived in a safer neighborhood and in my own home it would be a totally different matter. But in the meantime, I take a pill if I think I'm going to be gone a long time.
