It is IMPOSSIBLE for a nuke to unintentionally detonate. The basic physics of a nuclear detonation requires a specific sequence of events to occur in a specific order without fail or degradation. At WORST a nuke can have an explosion of its high energy (HE) explosive shell that scatters radioactive material but there would not be a nuclear reaction resulting in a giant mushroom cloud. An INTENTIONAL detonation could be quickly tracked down to the country of origin since the manufactured isotopes are as unique as DNA.
