I'm coming to terms with the fact that the things I want in life aren't going to be mine. I'm never going to have friends and go to parties and I'm never going to be a musician. These have been my two main goals since the start of high school and now I'm over half way through my first year of university and I'm am finding that neither of these things are going to happen. I've been alone too long and started the music too late to play with others my own age. I need something new to do with my spare time that I can do alone and that does require any athletic abiliy (I have none). I need something to get my mind off my dissapointment and aim myself towards. What are some suggestions.

It's not that I need something to define me, I just need something to fill in the extra time that I have.
Also having friends does matter, believe me, the people who have them look like they have alot more than they realize. (especially if you want to play music, no fun alone)

If music can't be a career for you, it can still be a good hobby. It seems like it is a great passion for you so you shouldn't give it up entirely. If you take English classes they can help you with song writing and you could make a good career from it by writing for a newspaper or being a novelist or a screenwriter.
You can even minor in music and, who knows, it could help you be a better player and you can meet people who are in the same boat as you, and you can still have the musician goal you wanted.
No matter what you choose to study you will make more friends once you pick a major because you will have the same people in all of your classes and you will have similar interests.
If none of that helps...I just graduated from college with a degree in Chemistry. It is fun and challenging, and with all of the people who are afraid of anything "hard", it is super easy to find a job. I was hired two weeks before my graduation!

friends are irrelvant and superficial. parties as well, the braindead go to parties. your not going to be a musician over night. have you been working towards the musician goal? do you have a talent? or did you want to be one just because you had a dream? maybe your brain is telling you that you don't really want to be one.
though i probably wouldn't do it myself as i do other things - you could volunteer for something. they say you meet people that way. and you might find something you enjoy doing.
i have no particular goals. however i have a dozen hobbies. i do each when i feel like it. and i'm not commited to any one of them. try photography, it's pretty easy, get's your mind working creativily, you can meet people that way if your outgoing.

Not to sound like your parent, but you have the rest of your life to find things you love! You don't have to pick just one thing and have that thing define you. If you love music, keep at it until an opportunity comes along. Parties are overrated, and while it seems like you're missing something by not going to them, believe me, you're not. You're missing artificial drinking buddies and wasted nights and days. Not a big deal in my opinion. Use the internet to research things you're interested in, and take random classes in things you don't know about. You will find it, believe me. Just be patient.

Sometimes when you have to start over the best place to go back to is the beginning. What did you love as a child? What were your hopes and dreams then? What were you good at? As a child you didn't have any of your current drama. And you knew what you loved most. Even if it seems stupid at first really think about it. I hope that makes sense, and good luck!!

If you give up, then you will move onto the next thing, then when it gets hard you will just give up.
SOOOOO don't quit, never give up, there is a reason you started these things, keep up the music, don't compare yourself to others, do what you enjoy. OK
