Thanksgiving is about the help European colonists got from the Native americans and America has many backgrounds here from all over the world.so why do some people get racist and say "i'm from here and go home" to newer newcomers? it's just years apart from family coming to this country and settling than others.

It is because most of the people who say this have some REAL deep roots in this country. They might have relatives who fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI, WWII and so on and so forth. It just burns them that out of all the struggles their families have went through and all the taxes they themselves have paid, that losers who have sacrificed NOTHING, come here from countries where it is the norm to hate Americans, live off the taxpayers money and offer little to American Society.

Most of the older settlers to this country were quite proud to become Americans, and chose to assimilate as quickly as possible. They made sure their children learned English.

They may have preserved their culture and traditions at home, but to the outside world they became Americans.

I see with the "newer newcomers" they are not as willing to join into the American culture and expect the USA to accommodate them, rather than working to fit in.

I work hard to avoid being racist, but for those who do not want to become Americans I say "if your country was so good and America is so bad, why are you here?".

Some people forget that America became great because of it's diversity of different people from all over the globe, as well as the authors of the constitution, among other things. Taking a "go home" stance just reveals their own ignorance.

It's almost a reversed patriotism. It's more of a "we don't want YOUR kind here!"

Honestly I don't understand this. I've been all over the world, yet I've found the US to be the least warming. I've even been the the Mid-East, the place where we are told Americans are hated. Yet I was treated more kindly in Iran than I was when I came home.

I don't think has to do with "I'm from here and go home", Its just that we have laws in this country, and people are coming in illegally. I don't have a problem with anyone of them coming here, if they go thru the proper channels. I also feel "Welcome to America - Now speak english!" I don't care if you speak another language, but learn the language of our country. Why do we have to keep printing things in other languages? There are too many issues, I could go on and on.

you know what? I can figure that out my self, I don't know why people don't realize that we are all humans and we should just love each other for who we are and for what we have. Try to find peace and just believe their is a fair God Watching us.

People are stupid that way. And, technically, we ALL came from somewhere in Africa (that is where they think that mankind originated).
