It depends on the state, whether or not you crossed state line. But you're not just going to be charged with evading.
If you're driving a car off the top of my head:
Failure to stop.
Flight - (evading)
Public endangerment.
Speeding (if you go over the speed limit)
Failure to stop (one charge every time you go through a stop sign or light)
Failure to yield (once for the police and every time you fail to yield)
Assault (if you hit a car or a person)
The list can get really long, or lets call 1 to 5 or more.

In Cali, the mandatory minimum sentence is 6 months in jail and a $10,000 fine.
Not sure what it is in Iowa.
Do you know that if you get in an accident while evading the police, and the other person dies, you will be charged with 1st degree murder?
And you can't out-run a radio. You might go faster than the officer who is chasing you, but every state trooper and sherriff in the area is going to have your vehicle description and license plate. You may make it home to find the police just waiting for you there.

You are getting lots of excellent advice, especially from Richard and Lilly. This is a good metal exercise, but please don't test it out with actions. It could be that you would not get caught, but even then, imagine what could happen. Any sort of police chase is dangerous for everyone in the vicinity. It disrupts society, takes police away from other matters, is a bad influence on young people...Then, if you do get caught, which is very likely, and even if you don't kill or injure anyone or cause property damage, they can "throw the book" at you. Most likely your driver's license would be taken away, you'd have many offenses on your record which would effect future employment..and if I had daughters, I wouldn't let them associate with anyone who attempted to evade police. Take the good advice you receive on Answers, use your imagination and think of your future and your responsibility.

running from the police can be a really stupid and dangerous thing. If you are in a car, you could hurt yourself, an innocent person, or one of the cops chasing you. Its going to get you hurt. Some states call if fleeing and eluding. No matter whats its called, you are sure to get some jail time out of it. Take the vasoline with you cause your gonna need it.

Look at it this way.
You and a friend are going to rob someone.
You pick a victim. Stop them, demand money.
Suddenly your friend shoots the victim.
Do you A. run away like your friend did?
or B. Stay until the police arrive?
ALWAY'S PICK B!! Try to help. Call the cops. Flag them down.
Tell them exactly what happen. When court time comes, your charges will be less than your so-called friend.
Unfortunately EVERYONE picks "A" so when they get caught, it is worse.

You would probably get some "attitude adjustment" that left NO marks, jail, maybe a pervert cellmate and a HUGE fine at the minimum.
If you want to get on TV open a food bank or something. The police have no time or patience for PUNKS getting attention at their expense.

Just run you pussy. If you're intelligent and athletic in the least bit, you should get away without a problem. These people saying otherwise are timid freaking bible beaters who should be set on fire.....

If there's a warrant out for your arrest, you're in big trouble because you will be picked up and denied bail for days. If there's no warrant, there's no problem. If you know what Court the warrant would come from, they probably have a web site and you could check.

Depends on your state. Never a good idea to run from police...great way to get yourself shot. Whatever you do, don't try this in a major city. Hey, don't try it at all.
