If she's in pain, and she hasn't gone for "ages", then please get her to a doctor immediately.
Otherwise:
*Regular aerobic exercise (i.e., jogging, bicycling, skipping rope, walking with a light -less than 15 lbs.- backpack, you get the idea) of not more than 40 minutes duration, no more than 4 times per week.
*Sip (DON'T guzzle!) about 10 oz. of water over about 3 minutes.
*Eat something with lots of fiber (i.e., whole grain breads/cereals, vegetables, mixed fruit juices -pineapple/orange, etc.-.).
*Remember to stay hydrated over the course of the day (H2O is best/stay away from soda pop!).
Good luck, I hope this helps.

Constipation is a fairly common problem, however when you refer to "ages" since your daughter has had a bowel movement, that raises a red flag. I don't know how long you are talking about, but if she is in a lot of pain, she really should see a doctor. If it has only been a couple of days and the pain is not intense, then you could try prune juice and prunes. Or maybe a stool softener. Otherwise, if she is having intense pain and cramping or has not had a bowel movement for more than 5 days, I would highly recommend she see a doctor. I wish you and your daughter good luck.

Castrol Oil has never failed me. 1 Tablespoon will do. You can find it in the baking aisle at the grocery store. A laxative will not work if she's too backed up. Castrol Oil is an old remedy I got from my grandmother.

tell her it will be much more embarrassing when you have to take her to the ER!! She must take a laxative of some kind, or she is going to get an enema later.

Feed her Maypo cereal...that stuff is loaded with fiber!!! Also, popcorn and apples with the skin on, oranges too.
Nuts should also do the trick, and drink lots of water and fluids.

Enema!
We all hate them, but they sure as heck work.
If she's been constipated for awhile its time to see the doctor anyway.
