Are you kidding me with that question? Not only should he not be in the rotation, he shouldn't even be on the team. He hasn't pitched since June 27, 2005, and made $8 million last season and the Yanks got nothing in return. He got hurt in a car accident and didn't even bother to tell the team until they called him two weeks later to tell him they were going to activate him. Yes, Randy Johnson and Jaret Wright were busts, too, but at least they were in uniform and threw more than 1 damn pitch for the Bombers in the last 20 months.

As long as he is healthy...he's got a spot. Barring a return by the Rocket, he is in. Here is what it looks like
Chien-Ming Wang
Mike Mussina
Andy Pettitte
Carl Pavano
Kei Igawa
If he returns to the form that gave him the deal he got(2004), the Yankees will be the team to beat in the East. Trading Johnson really opens up the bottom end of the rotation and gives Pavano and Igawa their chance. Pavano's only 31 so there is no reason he can't regain his former success.

Yes, I believe that Carl Pavano will be in the Yankees starting rotation this year.

i imagine acceptance may have slightly to do with it. Wang replaced into for sure the suitable pitcher for the Yankees in 2006 and nonetheless isnt seen the ace of the crew, and there is also a lot doubt that he will pitch on beginning day. notwithstanding i imagine it could be: Wang Mussina Pettitte Pavano (if healthy) Igawa How good do those first 3 names seem up there. i imagine they could take out the international sequence on '07. If Clemens comes again, i imagine there opportunities will strengthen lots until eventually for some reason he loses his dominance this low season by some skill.

If he can avoid getting hurt he will. There was some talk that he was looking at being traded to some other team. I can only hope that will happen. He is horrible. A classic mistake by the Yankees going after a Pitcher who had one good season and throwing tons of cash at him. We should learn from that one.

He'll get a shot, but Igawa will challenge him, then possibly Clemens comes in, then anyone they pickup midseason. He will have to really rebound huge in order to get into and stay in that rotation!
