I did it a few years ago, the first year they had it for special ed. My best advice is to make sure you answer the questions completely and stick to the standards.

Basically, they want to know what you're doing that goes above and beyond what most teachers do, and how that helps the kids. That's the part to keep focusing on. How whatever it is you do helps the kids, because they should be your main focus.

Make sure your writing is formal and professional, and that there are no grammar mistakes or misspellings. Have a few people read it to make sure it makes sense and says what you want it to say.

This may sound silly, but also make sure you box everything up correctly. They won't even read it if it isn't boxed up the way they want, and you'd hate to do all that work and have it arranged the wrong way.

I waited until the very last minute to put everything together, then I had to overnight the box to make the deadline. Not a good idea! Very stressful! Try to have everything complete at least a few days early.
