To be perfectly honest, I don't know.

It is such a complete mess. What angers most of us is that Bush blatantly and knowingly lied to get us there in the first place. Then, they had no strategy for the occupation. It has turned into a quagmire (yes that word is appropriate) and none of their strategies have worked so far. The fear now is that this is another effort at futility that will ultimately just result in the premature deaths of more young American soldiers.

It is difficult to say what should be done now that we are stuck with this problem because if we cut and run the whole region could explode and leave us very vulnerable due to our reliance on the oil in the region. Unfortunately, I think that if we are to really stabilize the situation, we probably need another 200,000 troops instead of 20,000.

My honest opinion.

Show the Iraqis that a huge withdraw is forming enough so they think we are gone then bring back the middle class that fled to Jordan. We still have a zip code size embassy in Iraq so we will never be out of there.

Send in the Navy shore up all ports, and air support and then nuke missiles from the air, after withdrawing all troops, and civilians to evacuate by a certain date. And not to take those people to America, take them to Greece or Cyprus or Spain, that will cure the problem for real. Then we are not murderers, we should level that pest infested area, free the world from deadly viruses.

Well, Pres Bush is the Commander in Chief. He has more knowledge on what is going on in Iraq than anyone on this site. I suggest people keep their uneducated opinions to themselves.
