i am sending in sick lines fortnightly but my employer is demanding that i ring in every morning to confirm whether i am going to be at work or not. As i am on semi permanent sick leave is my employers demands legal as it is difficult to contact them due to my circumstances. From what i have been told,as long as i have an offical sick line and not a self cert.My employers demands are rubbish and are maybe coming about because of the accident at work. can i please have ur thoughts on this?..

If your gp writes a paper stating that you are to be off work until further notice, or states a certain date, then you shouldn't have to call in daily to alert your supervisor. I would have your doc do just that.

If you are passed medically unfit for work for any reason then you are not obliged to contact your employer until your resumption date or if you are sending in a new sick note. they could be construed as Harrison you if they continue demand that you phone each day. Are you a member of a union if so speak to them. I do take it that you are making a claim against the company for what ever occurred so tell you solicitor that you are being told to do this

Depends. If you filled out an FMLA application, you need only to do what your employer's Human Resources Department tells you to do. I was out 3 months and I had to have my doctor send them, once a month, a note saying I am still out. When it was time to go back, they needed a note from my doctor saying I can come back.
