I think it should be legal in every state. That a marriage is between a man and a woman should not be a legal issue. Things are changing and we have to learn to change with it. Legality, Morality and Religion need to be separated, once and for all
Yeah, yeah yeah...the bible. The bible is NOT the freaking LAW...not everyone is religious especially not Christian, this is making me ill....

Yes and no. Personally I can't imagine why anyone would care who someone else marries, but I suppose that "marriage" is a religious thing and therefore I guess that religion does have a right to define it. However marriage is also a legal thing, which entitles people to certain benefits, in this aspect it is unacceptable to not give everyone the same opportunities, and there should certainly be a legal equivelant of marriage, if they don't want to call it marriage.. fine, call it a civil union or whatever, but there must be something which gives them equal entitlements, otherwise their rights are being violated.

I wondered that, myself, a few years ago. I thought it was wrong. Just wrong.
But wait--I'm engaged to be married for the 5th time. I can marry as many times as I want, as long as it's to a man.
I have four children from three different husbands.
My fiance has three children from a high school fling and an ex-wife.
We won't be having children together.
Is there sanctity in this? We are already living together--IN SIN as the church would see it--yes, we have sex, and lots of it.
But we aren't marrying for procreation nor the protection of our children. There are ex's involved on both sides (more than one for each of us).
Where's the protection of our children for this situation?
I won't be taking his name.
Where's the sanctity in this?
I have two children that don't live with me and two that I split 50/50 with my last ex.
My fiance is an every-other-weekend dad.
What protection is our marriage going to give? And to WHOM is it going to protect?

What makes OUR untiy and marriage together anymore beneficial or important than a gay couple?

I don't know if gay marriage should be allowed. Seems to be a touchy subject among some. Man & woman were made to "fit together" not man & man or woman & woman.

No, I voted here in South Dakota this past Nov. to amend the state constitution defining marriage as between a man and a woman.

God created marriage to be between a man and woman, just like he created sex to be between a husband and wife (man & woman). Sex was never created to be between a man and a man or woman and a woman.

God does not hate homosexuals, he hates the act or the sin. He hates it so much that he destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah because of it, he sent people to witness and share the truth to them, and they rejected it, and in the end he destroyed those cities because of it.

No. Marriage is a male and a female. Gay sex is something other than marriage.

Sure. If two people want to make a lifetime committment, who cares what parts they have? I mean, I know most of the gay couples I know have better track records at staying together than most of the straight people I know. Just my experience, your mileage may vary.

Yes, gay or straight people are people and God doesn't make mistakes.
I don't have a problem with it because I only care of who sleeps in my bed.

yes i believe they should be allowed, they are no different than any other couple who are in love, and they should enjoy all of the same benefits as everybody else.
