I have no idea what the nature of this gathering is but here are some things to do that should be fun and "enlightening". You don't want to wear out any one game, though, so a variety would be best:

1. Play telephone
2. Go for a "blind" walk outside in a train. The person in the front has their eyes open. Everyone else has to follow with eyes closed and can hold onto the waist of the person in front of them. Or maybe hold onto a shawl of sorts tied around each person's waist if there's boys and girls in the group.
3. Play board games.
4. Make a craft: i remember this one we did in 5th grade where by the use of magnetic force, we got some object to revolve around a small pole on it's "own" (like a gymnast would swing around the uneven bars)
5. Spend some time talking about serious issues, especially about what it's like being a teenager. Break the group up into smaller groups for this: 11-14 and 15-17 might work.
6. Have each person get a piece of paper and ask them to write down all their dreams, from the tiny to the absolutely impossible. Talk to them about the importance of dreaming and of writing things down to get their little subconscious minds working on it.

HAVE FUN

Have 'em clean your garage, or your attic. Seriously, though, all boys or girls? Mixed company? Indoors or outdoors? You need to give more info... My hubby has worked with boy scouts for years, and he's got some great outdoor games. E-mail me if you want...

if your area has one go play indoor laser tag it is fun, running around is healthy, promotes competition, and will tire them out.
