Yes. Uninstall AVG before you install Avast.
But AVG is a good AV so why replace it?

Well, I'd stick with the AVG, but if you're determined to make the switch, download the AVAST executable file first, uninstall AVG, and then install the AVAST.

To your question yes but why avg is the best free antivrus on the market but thats just my opinon

yes you must uninstall AVG. It may cause conflicts because they share a common function.

That is recommended. Sometimes you can find two AV actually playing nicely together BUT that is very rare ... yes, uninstall.
